Disney cruise lines selected DredgeMaster and Millmac to provide all labor, equipment, and materials to restore the beaches on their island, Castaway Key, Bahamas.  Millmac arranged for all equipment procurement and transportation to Castaway Key, via marine RORO vessel. The dredging was interrupted twice when two hurricanes, first Francis and then Jeanne, destroyed the beaches. Undeterred and working on a 24-hour basis after the incidents, we were able to restore the beaches to Disney’s satisfaction and reopen the island to their cruise passengers. 

The Gulf Copper shipyard in Galveston, TX, lies in a coastal area of Pelican Island. Due to the tidal nature of the shipyard, the berths silt up and prevent deep draft vessels and oil rigs from safely mooring at the facility. We are under contract to provide maintenance dredging at the shipyard on a continuous basis to maintain sufficient drafts at all working piers. 

Iberostar Resorts decided to construct a new resort in Montego Bay, Jamaica. During construction of the hotel, it was discovered that the beach area was full of silt, not sand. We were selected to provide marine construction and dredging services to restore these beaches. The silt was dredged from the near shore beach area, and new sand was located offshore and strategically deposited in this area. The result was a pristine beach, suitable for the new incoming tourists.

After competitive bids, DredgeMaster and Millmac were selected to perform a residential canal dredging for the city of Holmes Beach, FL. This 20,000 cubic yard project was to be done with limited boat traffic interruption and full manatee protection, along with strict Florida Department of Environmental Protection oversight. We completed this project with no cost overruns to the city and within the allotted time frame. As a result of this successful project, we were selected to do the maintenance dredging for the city for three consecutive years.
